Ms Ciara Bowers

Consultant Plastic Surgeon | MBChB | FRCS (Plast) | MBA

Consultant Plastic Surgeon Ms Ciara Bowers specialises in Burns, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. UK trained; Ciara joined the Coppergate team after completing the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons Aesthetic Mentorship under the tutelage of Mr Nicholas Rhodes. Ms Bowers is pleased to offer a range of plastic surgery including skin oncology, scar revision and aesthetic procedures. Alongside her role at Coppergate Clinic, Ciara is a Consultant Plastic surgeon at The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS trust, specialising in burns surgery and reconstruction at the nationally recognised Pinderfields Regional Burn Centre. She is a member of BAAPS, the BBA and is on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery. Her favourite procedures are Upper blepharoplasty and lip lifts, having seen how these small adjustments can have a big impact on both body and mind. As a mum of three, including twin girls, Ciara has a particular passion for restoration and rejuvenation of the post pregnancy body.

Professional experience

Ms Bowers graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2007, she returned to her Northern Ireland homeland for Core surgical training, working in the renowned Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast where she developed a passion for burn care and reconstruction. Ciara achieved her Plastic Surgery training position in Yorkshire, which she is now proud to call home.

Throughout her career Ciara has been passionate about improving patient care, she has augmented her clinical training with a Quality Improvement post as part of the Yorkshire and Humber Future Leaders programme and completed an Executive MBA from the University of Nottingham Business School.

Following completion of her plastic surgery training Ciara was awarded the prestigious Burns Fellowship at the St Andrew’s Burn Centre, Chelmsford.

Ciara has presented nationally and internationally and has been awarded first prize for her presentation on reconstruction of the burnt breast at the British Burns Association national congress.
