Thin Lips

Thin lips can be caused by a number of factors including genetics, sun exposure and the skin’s ageing process.  A lack of collagen production is one of the primary reasons people experience a thin upper lip.

Collagen is a natural substance created by your body, and is responsible for the elasticity of skin. As we grow older, our collagen production slows, causing our skin to sag and the appearance of very thin lips.

Collagen deficits can be exacerbated by sun exposure, as sunburn or sun damage can cause collagen in the skin to break down.
