Chris studied medicine at the University of Sheffield and qualified as a doctor in 2004 with a 1st Class Honours in Medical Science. He performed his Basic Surgical Training in Yorkshire, before moving to Edinburgh to complete his higher surgical training in plastic surgery.
In 2018 Chris was awarded a highly prestigious Advanced Training Fellowship in cosmetic surgery, which is the highest recognised training programme in cosmetic surgery and allowed him to train with world leading cosmetic surgeons. He returned to Leeds in 2019 to complete a further fellowships in sarcoma, lower limb reconstruction and microsurgery, and was subsequently appointed as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.
Throughout his career, Chris has been involved in research. During his training he was awarded a PhD from the University of Edinburgh for his international prize-winning research on stem cells within fat, and their regenerative potential. He has written multiple book chapters, published widely in the scientific and surgical literature and presented his work globally.
