What does breast enlargement surgery involve?
Breast augmentation is performed in a procedure that takes up to 2 hours.
Firstly, the cosmetic surgeon makes an incision along the crease underneath the breasts. The breast tissue is remodelled to create space for the silicone implant. The implant is inserted either above or below the chest wall muscle, depending on the desired outcome.
Breast augmentation is performed with a general anaesthetic to ensure that the procedure is pain-free for you.

How much downtime is required after a Harrogate breast augmentation?
Full recovery from a breast augmentation takes around 4 to 6 weeks, and it may take up to 12 weeks for your breasts to feel completely comfortable and natural. You will need to wear a support bra for a few weeks to support your tissues while they heal.
Your sutures will be removed at a follow-up appointment after 1 to 2 weeks, and you should feel ready to return to work after 2 weeks, as long as your job does not involve strenuous exercise.
