Am I a good candidate for breast augmentation surgery in Manchester?

If you are unhappy about the small size of your breasts, you may be a good candidate for a breast enlargement.

Our Manchester patients consult us about a breast enlargement procedure for several reasons.

Dissatisfaction with their naturally small breasts

Breasts come in all shapes and sizes, and many women have naturally small breasts.

Some women aren’t happy with this state of affairs and find that they are much more confident and feel more feminine after breast enlargement surgery.

Changes in the breasts after pregnancy and breastfeeding

Motherhood can leave a legacy on the body that many women find challenging to cope with.

The impact of this is often most visible on the breasts. Breast volume and shape can be significantly changed by pregnancy and breastfeeding. The breast can appear smaller with sagging, overstretched skin. The appearance of the breast will not improve without intervention, but breast augmentation surgery can restore youthful contours.

Breast changes due to hormonal changes at menopause

If you have gone through the menopausal transition, you may be dismayed to find that your breasts have become flatter as the volume of the breast tissue has decreased. This could be restored with breast implants that still have the look and feel of natural breast tissue.

Post-weight loss breasts

More and more people are reaping significant health benefits by using weight-loss medications. However, a disappointing side effect of substantial weight loss for women is that the skin of the breasts does not shrink away as the fat stored in the breasts disappears. Breasts are left flat and saggy, a situation that can be rectified with silicone or saline implants.

Asymmetrical breasts

Breast asymmetry is common, but in extreme cases, this developmental anomaly can cause extreme distress and embarrassment. By using one implant on the smaller side, our cosmetic surgeons have given patients body confidence for the first time.

If any of the above solutions sound familiar, then why not book a consultation with a consultant plastic surgeon at our clinic? Your consultant will discuss your concerns and give expert advice on the best procedure for you.

A full medical history will be taken to ensure that you are in good physical condition before surgery is recommended.

What happens during a breast enlargement with implants?

Your cosmetic surgeon will make an incision along the crease beneath the breasts. A space is created to accommodate the implant in the breast tissue. The implant is inserted, and the wound is closed with sutures.

Your surgeon may place the implant either above or below the chest wall muscle and will discuss the benefits of each approach with you at your initial consultation.

The entire procedure takes around an hour and a half and is performed under general anaesthesia to ensure your comfort.

The recovery process after breast augmentation

Your breasts will feel tender after surgery. Your sutures will be removed at the clinic after 1 to 2 weeks, by which time you should be sufficiently recovered to return to work.

Full recovery takes around 6 weeks. During this time, you will need to wear a support bra and avoid strenuous activities.

It may take up to 12 weeks for your breasts to feel completely natural. Initially, your breasts may be in a higher position on your chest than you expected, but they will drop down to a more pleasing position as your body goes through the healing process.

Most patients experience a smooth recovery period, but we are always here if you have any concerns.

Are there any potential complications with this type of breast surgery?

All surgical treatment has potential complications, including bleeding, bruising and infection.

Breast augmentation procedures carry all these risks, but the excellent care you will receive at the Cooperate Clinic reduces the potential for problems considerably.

Potential problems after breast enlargement with breast implants

The use of breast implants carries some specific issues that may develop in the medium to long term.

In both cases, removal and replacement of the breast implants are required.

These risks will be fully explained at your initial consultation.

What will my breast size be after my boob job?

We always advocate for a natural-looking result with a cup size that complements your body shape. Implants come in a range of shapes and sizes, and we will give you expert advice on the best choice for you.
