What is CO2 laser treatment?

This skin rejuvenation treatment utilises pulsed light to remove damaged skin cells from the epidermis, the outermost layer of the skin.

Laser resurfacing causes controlled thermal damage, which activates the body’s natural healing process. The treated area is then flooded with high levels of new collagen to repair the damaged skin.

Cell renewal is increased, and a few days after treatment, the damaged skin will exfoliate, revealing firmer, smoother, and younger-looking skin.

Skin imperfections that can be treated with a CO2 laser

CO2 Laser resurfacing offers significant skin rejuvenation for a broad range of skin concerns, including the following:

CO2 laser is one of the most effective treatments available, and our Manchester patients are delighted with the noticeable improvements it achieves.

Is laser skin resurfacing painful?

You may experience mild discomfort and a slight burning sensation during your laser treatment; however, we use a topical anaesthetic, and our Manchester patients generally tolerate the procedure well.

How much downtime will I need after laser skin rejuvenation?

You will only need minimal downtime after laser resurfacing.

Most patients experience facial redness for a few days, after which the skin in the treated area will gradually peel, revealing fresh, smooth skin with a youthful appearance.

Aftercare for patients

It is essential to treat your skin with extra care after CO2 laser treatment to avoid irritation.

We advise our Manchester patients to use gentle skincare products and avoid sun exposure after their treatment.

You will be given detailed aftercare instructions upon leaving the clinic.

How many treatments will I need for optimal results?

All our Manchester patients have tailored treatments designed to address their specific skin concerns,

This bespoke approach means that every patient’s treatment plan is unique, so it is not possible to confirm the number of treatments required until after your skin has been assessed by one of our plastic surgeons.
