FAQ

  • What brand of waxing products are used during wax hair removal?

Our therapists use a premium range of hot and strip waxes, as well as pre- and post-wax products. And since we use only the highest quality ingredients, our wax hair removal service is suitable for even the most sensitive of skins.

  • During wax hair removal, what is the difference between hot and strip wax?

Hot wax is spread thickly onto the skin during our wax hair removal service. The wax is then allowed to dry slightly before it is gently peeled away. This method pulls hair directly from the roots and offers several benefits. These include fewer ingrown hairs, less breakage and therefore longer regrowth periods. Hot wax also promotes skin hydration and is highly recommended for sensitive areas, including intimate waxing.

Strip wax is recommended for thicker/less sensitive skin. For example, on the legs, arms, back, chest, and shoulders. With the strip wax technique, a thin layer of wax is applied to the skin and is then removed using a paper or fabric wax strip.

  • How long should my hair be before my waxing hair removal?

Our hot wax can remove hair as short as 1 mm in length and our strip hair removal can remove hair as short as 2 mm. However, this generally applies to hair that has had regular waxing. If this is your first time receiving our wax hair removal service, or you’re waxing in between shaving, then we suggest a 4 mm growth.

  • what types of bikini waxing do you offer?

Our therapists are pleased to offer the following bikini waxing treatment options:

Basic bikini – removes hair from outside of the knicker-line

G-String – removes hair from outside of the G-String line

Brazilian – removes all of the hair from underneath and leaves only a strip, or triangle of hair in front

    Hollywood – everything off!

For your comfort during intimate waxing treatments, we always provide a dressing gown and disposable paper knickers for you to change into if you wish. A towel is also provided to cover parts of your intimate area during wax hair removal.

  • Do you offer a male wax hair removal service?

We certainly do! Our expert Coppergate Clinic therapists are pleased to offer wax hair removal for the back, chest and eyebrows, specifically for gents.

Unfortunately, we do not offer male intimate waxing. Please head to our price list page for more details.

  • How does the wax hair removal service feel?

Everyone has a different pain threshold, so waxing experiences differ greatly from person to person. Most clients who experience our wax hair removal, however, find the treatment more and more comfortable as the hairs become thinner, lighter and sparser thanks to regular waxing treatments. Our specialised hot and strip waxes and experienced therapists make our strip hair removal as pain-free as possible.

  • how long will the waxed area remain hair free?

You may notice a small amount of regrowth after a week or so after your wax hair removal. It can take up to four treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle that provides the best results. To maintain your smooth appearance, we recommend regular waxing every four weeks.

If you are looking for a more permanent hair removal solution, please see our laser hair removal treatment page.

  • what should I expect after treatment?

Since we use high-quality wax and have highly-skilled therapists, our treatments should leave you with minimal discomfort. When the wax hair removal service is completed, the therapist will ensure no wax or residue has been left on the skin. This ensures that the waxed area is left smooth, soft and hair-free.
Some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common. These are perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. These symptoms should subside over 24-48 hours and lessen with each subsequent wax treatment.
